This was a while back now but it made my little boy cry which inturn made me rather angry.

I won a double pass to take Reece to the Thomas Movie that came out a while ago. The tickets turned up on a Saturday lunch time via the post so I went to work on Monday to check out when I could take my excited little boy to see his favourite character and the movie had only been on Saturdays and the Saturday I received my ticket was the last one. Hence he missed out.

Was a little gutted, we ended up watching another movie but it would have been great to get the passes in time to watch the movie I actually entered to win tickets to.

I'm finding that to be more and more common.

I've won 3 double passes that haven't been able to be used so it is frantic case of findign where they're still screening to get them to someone else.

I won an Amelia double pass recently and I really wanted to see it...... but it isn't screening at our Hoyts AT ALL and the pass isn't accepted at Rialto. It must be hard for competition-promoters as movie theatres seem to be shunting movies in and out so fast now to make way for festival flicks

Well all that really sucks! I might as well add my story too:

I won four passes to a preview screening of Bolt and I got down there with my cousins and the people at hoyts kept us waiting around for 20 mins and then they came out and said 'sorry we cant show it today' And everyone who came had to put down there name for them to call back and organise another showing and they never called back. And its so hard to entertain 3 kids for 2 hours when its raining and you only have $5. All I can say is thank you McDonald's for having a great playground!

i never ever tell the kids that ive won anything (like if its tickets i want til they arrive and know when/if its screening near us, then we go on a suprise mission). the companies giving away the prizes may not always know that the movies are gonna be pulled. also mail sometimes takes longer than ya think, so am sure it isnt always them being nasty or vindictive - as they say sometimes &#^@ happens. def think its safer just not to get the lil ones hopes up til ya know for sure, you aint won until ya get the prize!!

Wow, didn't realise it happened so often.

I just got a birthday ticket to see any movie any way i.e. la premiere etc. Rung up to book La Premiere as I've always wanted to try it and was told La Premiere was all sold out so I cancelled the babysitter etc and decided to have the night in on my birthday. Went on line today just to check the lady wasn't BS'ing me and what do you know. Heaps of free seats. I am bloody ********ed off to say the least and can't get the babysitter back now - I think I'm going to keep well away from Hoyts from now on. I have never had any problems at Skycity Cinemas.

Thanks for the pointer though smithie I think thats what I'll do next time (if there ever is a next time) as I am sure the kids would be very excited to go on a surprise mission.
