It's the ultimate Romantic ballet!

The story of one man’s quest for unobtainable love takes centre stage in the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s Meridian Season of La Sylphide.

Created by Danish master August Bournonville and first performed in 1836, La Sylphide is considered the quintessential ballet of the nineteenth century’s Romantic period. The performance also includes Bournonville’s Dances from Napoli

The season tours six centres – Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill, Auckland and Napier – from 30 July to 3 September.

The RNZB is thrilled to again be partnered by orchestras in four centres: the Vector Wellington Orchestra, Christchurch Symphony Orchestra, Southern Sinfonia and Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra
