have you tried New Zealand Restaurants & Cafes - Restaurant Guide
click on your area and then specials. sometimes they have a restaurant with birthday specials. or try vouchermate or similar!

The Library Cafe in Onehunga. Sign up to their newsletter and they send you a voucher on your birthday, $20 from memory. And I very much recommend their food, especially if you're into organic or need gluten free/dairy free etc options.

- not free but still pretty good...you have to be signed up to their newsletter and you'll get the email just before your birthday which you have to print and take in We would love you to celebrate it at Revive on the day (or 2 days before or 2 days after your birthday). We would love to give you $8 off any meal/salad if you dine in! Or $4 off any meal/salad if you take-out! Simply bring in a copy of this e-mail and some ID showing your birthdate and we can give you this great offer!
