Just walking down our (long) driveway to check mail and happened to see an envelope fluttering in the gail force winds, about halfway up the drive. Pick it up and see it is a $50 cheque from ACP Magazines (Lucky Break? I did send away 2 photos last fortnight so??).

ANYWAY.... it seems that the junkmail people had forced their crappy pamphlets into our mailbox, which pushed the back open and made our REAL mail fall out and go god knows where. We've noticed a couple of things not turn up in last week or so (some movie tickets from the lovely LX ) and a card from daughter's godmum. So while I've been secretly blaming our postie, now I think our mail is blowing all over the place!

MUST get myself a 'no junk mail' sticker. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
If I hadn't chanced upon that envelope blowing around, I'd NEVER have known it had arrived. God knows how much other stuff has been dropped out the mailbox.

Yeah the junk mail deliverers don't seem to always use sense do they...?? We have a separate section above our "mailbox" but do you think they use that??!!
AND if anyone finds a no junkmail that still allows free newspapers I'd love to know - I still like the free papers

Hopefully not as I've never brought a Lucky Break, but certainly will be looking out for the magazine each week now so that I can buy the one ours is in! What is worse is that I sent away one of Billy&Max (cats) and one of Lucy so not even sure which one it was!!!

That sucks about your junk main filling your letterbox - I reckon they should ban it - we are going to have to put up a sticker too as they also shove it in the letter slot and it's so thick the mail man can't post letters - and our mailbox is broken anyway so double trouble there

Don't know if you get the realestate ones Chelseafan but up here in Auckland they are a nightmare - SO thick - and so many of them - they are like the size of a Herald

So glad you spotted your envelope and your $50 - Let us know when you see your cats up so we can all have a look

I got an email saying they were printing my little dudes pic and then saying the cheque will arrive up to 8 weeks AFTER the pic has been printed.

Maybe someone might have some old copies they could look at?

Funny you should think that too, LX. I actually went for a walk up our road and glanced into all our neighbour's gardens and the native bush across the road thinking that I may see your envelope But nope. Nothing Some blighter probably happened across it fluttering about and couldn't believe their luck. So, sorry about that... your lovely generosity may well have been literally sent blowing in the wind

I'm so sorry our stupid mailbox seems to have lost your very kind and generous mailing I shall clip it around the hinges on my next way out.

I'm just frigging glad I never complained to NZ Post about our new postie pssibly taking our mail... I was very close to doing so, especially after hearing last week of my friend's card to my daughter not arriving too..... Still could be postie though..... maybe she is careless and lightfingered ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

wow that sucks chelseafan! I used to love reading junk mail LOL well I just liked to checked what's on special, but there's always certain bits of mail that i just never read...now, I just don't read any bits of mail unless they're envelopes or parcels
Hopefully one of your neighbours came across something and are yet to pass it back to you

Hard to say re suburbs...... Postcode is WAVERLEY, we brought it as WAVERLEY... but one neighbour calls us ANDERSONS BAY and another calls us SHIEL HILL. I guess NZ Post's Waverley answer is the most right!!

Yep.. winds today could well have blown LX's lovely red envelope all the way to Mosgiel!! I'm so over winter. Must change my 'location' to frigging freezing Dunedin!!
