his summer, Giapo is holding its very first Photography contest! Here's how it works.

You need to shoot a picture of a child smiling in some sort of scene or situation. It can't be just a face shot of a child smiling, it has to be in a scene or situation (examples of what is a good image and what isn't can be found here: http://sites.google.com/a/giapo.com/...raphy/overview).

Once you capture the shot you think is the best, simply email it digital@giapo.com, then you will receive an email confirmation; and that's it your done! When the entry period has closed, we will upload every image to facebook.com/giapogelato under the album: Giapo Photography Contest 2010, where everyone can 'like' how many and as much as they ... like!

After the voting period is over, the photo with the most 'likes' on Facebook wins! The photos with the second and third most likes, will also get a runner up prize.

The prizes are big! With the first place winner recieving $1000 New Zealand dollars! The runner up prizes are $250 dollars each.

Sadly, there are some restrictions. This contest is only open to amateur photographers, so if you are a professional, please do not enter (using a high-level camera is fine). You can't be working at Giapo, or be the sibling or relative of anyone who works at Giapo. And lastly, you can't be over 27 years old.

Good news for all of us over 27, the age restriction has been removed from the comp and is no longer in T&C's. Found out on their Facebook page...

"GIAPOThe age limit to the giapo photo comp. has been taken off. read full terms and conditions"

Thats good, I thought it was a bit of a silly condition
